Der Weisse Ring 2024 - Das Rennen inklusive Madloch und Crash
The White Ring Race with great weather conditions and enough snow to also race the Madloch section.
On the left turn into the last descent of the Madloch I lost the outside ski and crashed. Nothing serious, so I was able to continue and enjoy the rest of the race.
Location: Around Lech
Race: 22 km and cumulative 5'500 m vertical drop and around 1000 racers

Team race with 4 simultaneous starters with around 200 teams participating. Great 75 yrs anniversary event of the Inferno Race. Due to the weather conditions the track was shortened. Start at Allmendhubel and finish in Mürren. Big thank you to the organizers to make it happen.

Inferno race 2017 from Schilthorn to Mürren with 1850 skiers taking part in the race. As always well organized by the officials, fun to race and great party afterwards. Unfortunately the camera did not record any GPS signal for the first two minutes, so the speed is displayed from the point the data is available.

The White Ring Race including a little wipeout as my ski went off at its own will ;) Location: Around Lech Race: 22 km and cumulated 5'500 m vertical drop. In 2015 the Madloch section was neutralised, so it is not included in the video.

The White Ring (Race) in Lech. Unfortunately the camera was mounted too low on the new helmet, so I was often filming the beautifuly white snow ;) Therefore the video has been trimmed.

Fun race with mass start from top to bottom in St. Anton. Due to the fog in the middle section we decided to race together. Finishing time: 14.27 min.

Which camera or application provides information about your run on the video (I mean speed, angle and map)? I know that GoPro add speed info, but I'm really interested in slope angle info.

ugeil, wievielter biste geworden und faehrt man da rs-ski oder eher einen super-g?
hi, war in den vorderen 10% platziert. ich fahre mit rs-ski (27m radius), weil ich sehr selten auf rennskis stehe und somit die übung fehlt. anderfalls wohl eher super-g ski

Cool Video. The heartrate is insane really. Some tipps for you from a former professional skier: Never ever look back it costs a lot of speed and time. When somebody is behind you then it is like that. He will not look back bcs he can see you already. You are driving small track, means the feet are not wide enough. Wide feet gives speed in certain terrain. Keep your skies flat always even in corners. Physics will do the rest if you have reasonable power in your legs. And do not smear, use the edges of the skies when having a tight corner. Yeah it takes a lot of practice, but it is worth it believe me. Just my 2 cents, great video footage
Thank you for the great tips, I hope I can put some into practice. I guess your condition "if you have reasonable power in your legs" might be the limiting factor ;) I do not train ski racing and usually wax the skis just once in summer. Regarding the heart rate: I have a relatively low resting rate, but the excitement, high altitude, effort and some apres ski the night before push it up. Since it goes very quickly back to normal right after the race I feel fine. Have fun on the slope, happily winter is not far away
Ich bin fasziniert vom Rennen. 2020 wollten wir auch fahren, wurde aber leider abgesagt. Es war zumindest ein tolles Schiwochenende. Sag, deinPuls geht jawährend deiner Fahrten immer weit über 170. Was ist dein Ruhepuls, wenn ich fragen darf. Bist du von Haus aus Hochpulsig? LG Chris
Thanks for the great footage! Can’t believe they made you all climb up the hill after the Zugerbergbahn before having to do the flat section. Was the escalator there too dangerous for the race?
I thought the same when I exited the gondola. I was under the wrong assumption that we could run up the escalator and was then surprised that we had to do the detour 😄
Alter Schwede, wie schnell. Ich war zwar seit 22 Jahren nicht mehr dort, aber warum fehlt denn das Madloch hier? Und von Zug aus fährt jetzt eine Gondel/ein Kabinenlift? 🤔👍👍

Ok, hab gerade woanders gesehen, dass für den Madlochteil für alle Teilnehmer die gleiche Zeit gewertet wurde.
Richtig, leider waren die Bedinungen nicht ausreichend, um das Madloch rennmässig zu befahren. Deshalb wurde die Zeit gleich nach der Madlochbahn gestoppt und erst wieder beim einsteigen in die Zugerbergbahn wieder gestartet. Neu ist die Madlochbahn ein Sechsersessel und auf den Zugerberg fährt eine Gondelbahn.

Mit was für einer Kamera/Sportuhr hast du deine Geschwindigkeit, Puls, Strecke und Gefälle aufgenommen und ins Video eingefügt?
hi, ich filme mit der garmin virb 30 mit eingebautem gps empfänger, dieser ist dann direkt verbunden mit einem garmin puls brustgurt. das lässt sich dann einfach mit dem programm garmin virb edit bearbeiten und finalisieren. gruss

this is in lech, austria. the race is called "der weisse ring - das rennen". great fun and i can really recommend it. but you need to be aware that race suits are not allowed anymore since some years. fine for me, because i do not own one, but some ppl prefer races where it is ok to wear a race suit. i use the garmin virb 30 aciton cam (has a built in gps receiver) and a garmin heart rate belt. edited with garmin virb edit.
